Retail Display Design Trends

Retailers are tasked with the responsibility of keeping up-to-date on the latest trends in catching consumers' attention. They're not focusing on just the actual items on the shelves or in the store windows, but on all the ways they are displayed.

Here are some retail display ideas that can get shoppers to take notice:

Interactive Displays

According to the Urban Land Institute, a nonprofit research organization, 50 percent of millennial men and 70 percent of millennial women view shopping as “a form of entertainment.” To them, it’s supposed to be an experience. This is why interactive displays are becoming a popular feature in retail stores; they both grab and hold a person’s attention, keeping the consumer engaged for a longer period of time.

Multiple Styles

Many retail displays don’t just utilize one style or theme; it’s all about mixing and matching décor right now. If you take a moment to look at different displays, you may discover that different design elements are present. Taking the best of rustic, modern, industrial, vintage, and other styles and showcasing them together could not only attract customers, but promote the uniqueness of the products being sold.

Sustainability

Including sustainable materials, such as bamboo, reclaimed wood and recycled glass, is another trend people are embracing in retail displays. They also add cool colors, natural textures and eye-catching patterns to the display, enhancing the overall design.

Being eco-friendly could also improve consumers' opinions of the company. According to Nielsen Holdings, a global information and data company, “Fifty-five percent of global online consumers across 60 countries say they are willing to pay more for products and services provided by companies that are committed to positive social and environmental impact.”

While it’s important to know what retail display trends are gaining traction, it’s just as essential to be innovative in order to stand out from the crowd. So don’t just embrace a new trend, put your own spin on it as well.

In order for people to appreciate your show-stopping retail displays, they need to be able to view it through spotless, impeccably-manufactured glass.
